Friday kicked off with a gig at the Adelphi in Hull. I went down in the van with
The Chevrolites, which was an experience in itself! The other bands playing were the
GST Cardinals,
The Ramsays,
The Cliques, and
The DiYs. Pictures will be uploaded
HERE and Videos
HERE Video of
The Chevrolites at the Adelphi singing La-La La La!
youtube.com/watch?v=_JAdQdQhlX…Jon Vickers went home, but Si Dillon, Craig Allington, David Cox and their friend (I think his name is Ian) and I all went to
Spiders, a nightclub where the drinks are unbelievably cheap, where we danced the night away. Failing to find any party or place to crash, we all piled into a taxi and Ian headed off whilst the rest of us went back to sleep in the van at about 3 am. Craig slept in the front seat, David had a sleeping bag, but other than my jacket that was it. I tried to sleep, but it was too cold though, and Si and I ended up getting up at 5 am and just talking for about 5 hours and laughing about those things that are only funny when you've had not enough sleep and too much to drink!
Craig drove us back to Newcastle where I stopped off with Si to take photos of him getting a tattoo! (Photos will be uploaded
HERE and
HERE) and as i was texting our friend Jonathan Corbett, frontman of
The Ballarats and about to send it, he walked past the front of the tattoo parlour wearing Ray Bans and looking very rock and roll. He'd been to a gig on friday and was still out on the lash as well. Si invited him back to his, but he said he was going to a party. But after Si got the tattoo, and we had settled back at his house, Corb rang to say come on over to the party on the next street, so we put our skates on and headed out. (Photos from that party will probably be uploaded
HERE)
None of us got any sleep until about 4 in the morning on sunday. And as i write this on Bank Holiday Monday, i wonder if some of those people from the party are still up! Today is the Evolution Festival, and i'm meeting up with the lads from
Sandhill at half 2 to pick up my photo pass.
